HONORING OUR FALLEN OR INJURED OFFICERS
The City of Middletown Police Department, though relatively new in tenure, has grown in numbers, services and accreditations. Our police officers provide 24×7 service to our community. While looking out for our community in an efficient manner, our officers strive to maintain a comfortable, friendly relationship with Middletown residents, businesses and visitors. Should one of our officers suffer injury or worse, the Foundation can step-in and provide financial relief.
SENIOR CITIZEN SUPPORT
Our senior citizens are prized members of our Middletown community. Indeed, they have played a major part in the growth and flavor of Middletown. Unfortunately, our senior citizens are often the target for those preying on our elderly population in order to financially exploit them. Our “Protect Our Seniors Program” is provided free of charge to our senior citizens as an educational tool to make them aware of these perils and give them insightful information that will help them avoid these predators. The Foundation places a high priority on the well being of our senior citizens and serves as an additional source of funding for senior programs administered by the MPD.
YOUTH SAFETY
The youth of our community are our treasures who collectively bring an unbridled happy level of enthusiasm to Middletown. As treasures, our youth citizens need to be watched over in order to ensure their safety. Special attention is given to our youth via a number of educational programs. The City of Middletown Police Department provides programs targeting youth education in local schools and also outreach services at community events. In order to augment the MPD budget, the Foundation provides funding for additional programs as needed.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The MPD has worked to become a highly visible presence in Middletown. Many neighborhoods and businesses have gotten to know the officers by name and vice versa. In order to further foster a community atmosphere, the MPD recognizes that community involvement is the key to not only maintaining, but fostering a friendly, comfortable and safe atmosphere in Middletown. Participation in community events such as parades, community fairs, and public holiday gatherings is key to accomplishing this goal. Funds for such events are often limited and our Foundation will step in to help the MPD when the need arises.
